Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Maria Cantwell (D-WA) introduced the Trade Review Act of 2025,\u00a0S 1272<\/a>, on April 3, which introduces a requirement for the President to notify Congress within 48 hours of imposing or increasing duties on imported articles, providing an explanation and assessment of the impact on U.S. businesses and consumers. The duties will expire after 60 days unless Congress enacts a joint resolution of approval. Conversely, a joint resolution of disapproval can nullify the duty. The Act excludes antidumping and countervailing duties from this process. It amends Chapter 5 of Title I of the Trade Act of 1974 by adding a new section, 155, which outlines the notification requirements and the process for Congressional review, including the introduction and expedited procedures for joint resolutions of approval or disapproval.\u00a0A companion bill was introduced in the House H.R. 2665 by Rep.
